Keilaniemi Electrical Substation
Facade
Electrical Substation, Espoo, Finland
Architects: Virkkunen & Co.
The facade design of the Keilaniemi Electrical Substation is based on a photograph of an electricity pylon by photographer Marc Van Agteren. By using RMIG ImagePerf, the symmetry of the photograph has been reproduced as an intricate design on more than 700 m² of perforated metal sheets. The sheets have subsequently been bent to fit in with the design of the power station.
